About the role
Mater Campus Services is hiring a Patient Accommodation Assistant. This is a permanent, part-time position, working 18 hours per week at our South Brisbane Campus.
The Patient Accommodation Assistant is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, assisting with guest check-ins and check-outs, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall operations of the accommodation facilities. This role involves housekeeping, interacting with guests, performing basic administrative support tasks, and assisting the management team in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 
What you’ll be doing
- Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and provide room assignments.
- Handle routine guest inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Process check-outs and provide necessary assistance with billing or payment issues.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and prepared for incoming guests, meeting required standards, including restocking amenities and checking for maintenance issues.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails or other inquiries as directed.
- Maintain accurate records of guest reservations, occupancy, and room status.
- Handle cash, process payments, and manage transactions for guests.
- Assist with maintaining security by monitoring guest activities and behaviour to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Report any security concerns or maintenance issues promptly to management.
- Keep track of supplies and inventory for the accommodation, such as toiletries, cleaning materials, and linens.
- Assist in placing orders for replenishment when necessary.
About you         
- Ability to interact clearly and professionally with guests, answer questions and resolve complaints
- Basic computer skills for data entry, email communication and managing tasks.
- Physically able to perform duties that require standing, walking, and occasionally lifting items
- Basic cash handling for managing payments using cash or credit.
- Experience in housekeeping or cleaning with an understanding of cleanliness and maintaining standards.
- Problem-solving to address issues that arise during a guest's stay, such as maintenance problems, unforeseen circumstances, or special requests.
- Multitasking skills to handle multiple tasks at once, such as checking in guests, managing room availability, and addressing maintenance needs.
